Golf 4 Kids DR is a Junior Golf Sponsorship Program that was designed in memory of a dear friend in the golf industry, Glen Powe, who passed away in early 2011. People that knew Glen knew about his passion for children and animals and always wanting to help those in a disadvantaged situation.
On June 4, 2011, we formally introduced our golf scholarship program to the community of Punta Cana/Bavaro in a golf fundraising format at the Cocotal Golf & Country Club (click on the Golf Tournament tab for further information of this event for 2012).
Our program is designed for 8-12 children to learn and understand the game of golf through a structured 8- week Junior Golf program, designed by a U.S. P.G.A. Teaching Professional, Lawrence Krupp, a P.G.A. veteran offering 27-years of teaching experience.
Our 1st Program ran from October 18, 2011 – December 6, 2011 and a closing party and awards on December 13, 2011. We had 11 dedicated students from 4 different area schools.
